Christmas festivities

Christmas festivities are my favorite. This is always the holiday I looked forward to the most. This year was a great year because both kids were old enough to enjoy the festivities with us. Well Tman was all about it and all Jbird wanted to do was unwrap and destroy things :).

We usually start celebrating in the morning and are later joined by my siblings in the afternoon for a family celebration. My mom usually spends the night with us since we have the kids (this will probably change now that my brother has a little one too) and every year in the past 4 years, hubby's parents also spent the night with us. This always makes for an awesome time on Christmas morning.

Christmas cards are one of my favorite things to get each year. I actually display them all year long to enjoy them as long as I can :). I put them on the door that leads to the garage so that I see those lovely pics everyday.
We've hosted Christmas every year for the past 3 years and each year we take a family picture. My sister always gets me this awesome picture frame with the year and I finally got my act together this year and started displaying these. I plan to do that every year as part of my Christmas decoration.

We actually shower and get dressed in our matching pajamas before we come down to see what Santa brought us (I mean you have to look good for all the pictures :)). We let the boys open a few presents before we sat down for breakfast. I don't think they would have survived otherwise.
We had to put this toy together before doing anything else because the boys insisted. We all worked together and I love that my mom captured it. It pays to have people around

  Hubby and the boys
We get excited about gifts around here :)

Hubby's parents were there too opening gifts with us :)
After the first round of gift opening, we enjoyed some breakfast before going back to open more presents.
My hubby couldn't wait to get out of his pajama :). At least he was a good sport this year. The next big think Tman opened was a train set. He was so happy about it that he couldn't wait to put it together. Jbird on the other hand was destroying everything, my little destroyer.
We had to move the train set downstairs to keep Jbird from messing with it. How awesome is this all set up? Tman was so proud that he built that with his dad.
Jbird trying to help his grandma make cakes :)
I totally have to show off my mom who was looking gorgeous after she got dressed. I mean just looking at her makes me happy, since I have half her genes, I have a great chance of aging gracefully :) (one can only hope).
Love this picture of everyone working on presents before the rest of the crew arrived. Blessed indeed
Before we knew it, it was time to get ready for the arrival of the rest of the family. Oh look who came to celebrate with us, my lovely niece almost 3 months old
 Me and my sisters
Our house was bustling with love and laughter, Christmas rocks
My mom helping my niece open her present
The boys got a motorized car that they totally loved. It was pure joy on their face as they were attempting to ride it around the house
I got better pictures the next day when we created some room around the living room and let them ride the car. My boys were in heaven

Back to the party, my brother and his beautiful family
We also took some fun and silly pictures in front of the tree

And of course all of us that celebrated together. Can't wait to put this in my 2013 frame :)
Our Christmas celebration was awesome. 4th annual hosting and looking forward to many more. I hope you had a great time celebrating with your family too.

Dear Sandie

Dear Sandie,

I feel the need to apologize for the misunderstanding that happened on Christmas eve. I really wasn't trying to ignore you, I really just got caught by surprise and clearly didn't know how to handle the situation.

The thing is apart from my husband, no one in my family actually knows that I blog. I am not hiding it, I am just not advertising it :). I also chose to blog somewhat anonymously, I don't advertise where I live or our name (just a personal preference nothing wrong with those who do). Maybe it's time I get out of the blog closet and tell everyone so it's not so awkward.

Anyway, I totally didn't expect that someone would recognize me from my blog, crazy huh? I wished it went differently and I gave you a hug or something :). Can we have a do-over?

Houston fun times

We had so much fun on our trip to Houston. It was all playdate and fun times with family and friend. The weather was pretty good too, cold for Houston but nice for us. The family was so happy to see us, the kids had a blast.

30 weeks with baby #3 getting ready to get on a plane
The flight to Houston was awesome. The boys slept more than 2 hours so it was smooth sailing most of the time. I have some awesome little travelers on my hands and I love it.

My sleeping beauty Tman resting peacefully
My boys were matching most of the trip down to their pajamas :). I know I am so that mom, there's something so sweet about matching siblings. I always wanted to do that and I am lucky enough to have same sex sibling to match. You best believe I will have 3 matching boys next year :).

Chilling with the boys in the morning
My mom hanging out with the boys
We went to a Cameroonian party one of the days and the food was so yummy. Oh how I miss some good Cameroonian food
Later at the house we took some pics by the Christmas tree
I laughed so hard when I realized that I was even coordinated with the boys :)
My mom and the boys hanging out
One of the days, we visited hubby's cousins and while we were there, we went to a local playground to wear the kids out as you do. Trust me it works, they slept like babies that night.

I was so shocked by this sign that I had to take a pic. Beware of alligators, are you kidding me, this is a pond in a neighborhood that is lived in. I guess this is how they roll in Texas, huh?
The boys had so much fun hanging out with hubby's cousin and her kids. They loved entertaining the kids at the playground

I love these girls, they are the sweetest. I wish we lived closer, I guess Texas will have to do. Check out their dad trying to photobomb us, hahahahahaha, your plan did not succeed.
We got a family pic before we left. I am so looking forward to the next visit with 3 kids
One of the days was spent just hanging out. My poor mommy caught a cold and she was feeling a bit under the weather. She is better now but for 2 days or so she was just not feeling like herself. We stayed close to home and just hung out.

Check out my Tman chilling on the couch. Hello handsome little boy
I took the kids outside for some fun pics since it was such a beautiful day
Me and my happy Jbird, this boy is about to become a big brother
Me and my boys, I had to convince Tman to join in on our picture taking fun
We got the best picture of the trip when we decided to do crazy things like jump for joy. Even my little Tman was into it, Jbird not so much he kept running away

I present to you, the crazy kids, jumping for joy. Check out Tman with his feet off the ground, lol.
We had a great trip to Houston and though I was exhausted after the trip, my heart was so full. Now I am ready to get into full Christmas mode. How is Christmas only a few days away. Hope you all had a great week.
