Weekend fun - Birthday party and more

Thank you so much for all your sweet comments on our anniversary and my Tman turning 4. Our Summers are always busy with celebrations since we have 2 Summer babies and a Summer wedding.

What a great weekend we had. It was a perfect mixture of chill and busy time. On Friday we celebrated our anniversary with a dinner out without the kids, my mom was kind enough to watch all 3 rugrats for us while we had a quiet dinner out. We plan to take a mini getaway this weekend without the kids, we are just spending the night away at a local resort nothing crazy. I mean I couldn't possibly leave my little Bean alone for more than 48 hours, how will he survive without me (crazy mom over here).

Saturday we just chilled and I took Bean out with me to do some shopping while hubby stayed at home with the big boys. I mean, we've learned our lesson, not taking all of them out anytime soon if we can help it. On Sunday, we hosted a little brunch at our house then attended a birthday party for my friend's daughter. It sure was a fun filled day.

Since we were all dressed up on Sunday, I made sure to get a family picture before we left the house (that's my signature thing). Let me tell you it is hard to get all 3 kids to look at the camera at the same time. I do love this pic of all of us.
Before I tell you all about the party on Sunday, here are a few of my favorite pictures from the week

Tman and Jbird getting ready for dinner one night this week, I love that they have the same expression
Me and Bean hanging out while the big boys eat their dinner (I had all 3 kids by myself while hubby was out running)
Speaking of Bean, check out my happy little man sitting up all by himself. He was laying down in  the bassinet and just pulled himself up and sat there like a big boy. He gave the biggest happy smile. Gosh, I heart this kid so much. He is a ball of happiness and perfect cuteness and those cheeks. Such an awesome baby my little Bean.
I found this gem at the store the other day and I couldn't resist. I need to find one for every member of our family
By the way, remember when I thought our deck was done. Well, it really wasn't because the rug I wanted for the deck went on clearance at bed bath and beyond and I snagged it. I mean how awesome that I could still use their 20% off coupon for it. I think it brings everything together nicely. I actually decided to get 2 so that I can cover the area that the kids used and allow them to go out on the deck bare feet without worrying about splinters. They sure love it. I also got a little storage seat that we can use as a table or chair. Now the patio is really done :).

On Sunday we attended my friend's daughter's 2nd birthday party. The boys had a ball. I love house parties because I can let the boys run around without worrying about them much.
Hubby and our happy Bean
Before we start this party, let me take a selfie :). Hubby is not impressed but Bean sure is
Me and my friend G and our babies. They are 7 months apart
I spent a lot of time at the party chilling with my Bean
While the big boys jumped for joy
Best moment of the party was when my Tman decided to do a puzzle with another kid instead of running around. Wow, my baby really is a big boy
I attempted to get a family pic before we left and I tell you it is impossible to have all 3 kids looking at the same time.
It was such a great weekend. We chilled a bit and partied some. By the time Monday rolled around, we were ready to take on the week. Bring on next weekend, I am so excited to spend some solo time with my hubby. I hope you had a great weekend too.

Happy 5-year Anniversary to us

5 years ago today, my hubby and I said I do in front of our family and friends. The good Lord has blessed our union tremendously with 3 beautiful and amazing boys. It's not always bliss but we are definitely blessed.

Our family on our wedding day and our family today, 5 years later :)
9 years ago I met my husband. I was barely out of College and he still had a year to go. It was Spring break of 2005, my BFF Melissa was studying abroad in London and I decided to go visit her. She was planning a trip to Spain with some of her friends (including my hubby) and asked me to join them in the adventure. I clearly could not say no to a trip with Melissa and I am so glad I did. We spent a week in Spain then another week back in London partying and having fun. My hubby and I totally hit it off and the rest as they say is history in the making. Best decision of my life.

Here are a few pictures of us through the years. I had so much fun sifting through pictures and it was so hard to just pick a few. We have so much fun together and I am so glad that I never listened to him when he said we didn't have to take pics to remember.

Newly engaged and loving life, this is one of my favorite pic of me and the hubby
In Munich, Germany having dinner in 2008, man we look so young :)
Sleeping on the beach
Christmas market fun in Germany, one of our favorite things to do when we lived in Germany
Loving on my man as you do :). I am just so happy that someone caught it on camera
Always taking pictures in the car because that's when you look your best if you are going out
Newly married and always showing the ring :)
Car selfie my favorite thing to do, what what
The week we found out we were pregnant with our first child
Taking selfies on the elevator on our honeymoon
We love taking selfies I know, on our way to big island in Hawaii
At my cousin's traditional wedding, gotta love the traditional African outfit oh and my tatoo
It's been a great 9 years together and an even better 5 years of marriage; we traveled a lot together, got married and made 3 beautiful boys. I am looking forward to many more years with my handsome man. We've been blessed beyond our wildest dreams and I thank God everyday for his grace.

Tman is 4 years old

My big boy Tman is 4 years old. Wow, my little baby that I prayed for, took 9 months to bake until he finally braced the world on 21 July 2010 is 4 years old. I can't even get over it. He is such an awesome big brother to our Jbird and Bean. We were truly blessed when he came into this world and the blessings continue to rain on our family.

I want to wish a Happy 4th Birthday to my beautiful and amazing Tman that so beautifully introduced me to the joys of motherhood. He is the most vivacious and outspoken 4-year old boy you will ever meet.

We are having a joint birthday party for both Tman and Jbird in a few weeks since their birthdays are so close together. I did want to celebrate each boy on his actual birthday so we had our family members over for cake and a little celebration.

Our little family on Tman's birthday
The boys with my family, Tman was all over the cake
The boys with hubby's parents
All Tman wanted was a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle cake so we indulged
All of us minus hubby
Oh hey there hubby, you made it in the picture :)
Happy birthday sweet boy of mine, you made me a mom and changed my world for the better. May the Lord grant you many more years of joy and happiness.

Weekend fun and a few house updates

We had lots of things going on 2 Saturdays ago, it made for a busy day. That was ok since we spent the Sunday just chilling and relaxing. I swear we say we are going to slow down but there just isn't any sign of doing that around here. I guess we just like to be busy. I must say I love that we can still do things despite having small children.

In the morning we met with a friend at a playground and let the kids play while we caught up on life. though I have small children, I still like to catch up with my friends without kids it just has to be somewhere I can let the kids have fun while I do my thing. That's the life of a parent, if you want to hang out with them you better be ready to do it at a playground ;).
My big boys doing their thing on the slides

After the playground fun in the morning, we went home for lunch and a nap before heading to a local park for a birthday party. More playground fun YAY. You know my kids were in heaven and so tired by the time we got home :). We love to wear them out like that. This playground in the park was actually pretty awesome. We'll definitely bring the kids back here since it's a short 10 minutes to our house.

Selfie time with my Bean
The boys doing their thing, look at those happy smiles

By the time we left, Bean and Jbird were passed out, YAY
Two kids down and one to go :)
 Hubby bugging my sleepy Jbird
Hubby makes time to work out, he runs 4 times a week. Sometimes though working out means doing an ab workout in the family room  so that he can watch the kids while I make dinner or something. Well Tman now loves to copy everything that his dad does, it's funny to watch. Check out my boys doing their workout :)
As far as the house updates go, here are a few that we completed recently. I watched a lot of HGTV and followed loads of blogs about home stuff and I had been dying to get some of our space decorated. I am not really inspired when it comes to decorating so obviously it had to be easy and brainless :). Also I am a huge bargain shopper so unless it's on sale or I see value in it it's hard for me to buy stuff. I think we did good with these updates though.

We added a shelf for the coats and gloves as well as a shoe rack in the laundry room as I was tired of tripping on shoes left and right. The space was completely transformed and I am now happy to use this area everyday. For less than $150 ( coat rack ($85), shoe rack ($15) for both, plastic containers ($15) for two, baskets ($15) for two), we completed our mudroom
We also got a few things for our patio. I had been dying to spruce things up a bit out there and I finally pulled the plug when I saw these awesome patio chairs on clearance a TJMaxx. Now all I want to do is sit out there and enjoy the space.
check out my Tman posing for me
Hubby and the boys playing with water outside as they do in the Summer
Me and my boys, totally posed but hey I would never make it in pics if I didn't plan :)
I am really pleased with the final result. For less than $150 (the chairs ($125) for both and pillows ($20)), our patio area is now completed. I might add an outdoor rug to pull things together but I am waiting for them to go on clearance :). Bargain shoppers unite. Hope you had a great weekend too.

A wedding in Colorado

The day before the wedding, Melissa came over to our hotel so that she could go swimming with the boys. After breakfast and such, we were in the pool for some fun times. I tell you, my boys love water like you wouldn't believe. All they want to do is stay in the water all day. Melissa had fun with Tman who was now more comfortable in the water and loved the fact that he could float. He wanted to be dunked in the water and wanted to swim to us to show off his skills. This kid I tell you

My hubby was just chilling on the sidelines taking pictures of us and just looking cool. I mean look at this handsome guy with his sunglasses (PS - he is loving the fact that he can wear sunglasses now since he had lasik last fall)
Tman and his aunt Melissa doing their thing in the water

Swimming to Melissa and so proud of himself
They really had a ball these two
After playing in the pool all morning, it was time to get ready for the rehearsal followed by the rehearsal BBQ. Nothing interesting happened at the rehearsal, we let the boys run around the ground and play so that they wouldn't get too bored. Hubby joined them at one point and it was so funny to watch

Jbird and my mom chilling at the BBQ
Bean and his aunt Melissa
Me and my girls. I miss seeing these girls often, I wish we could go back to living together again, those were some of the best years of my life.
My boys sleep everywhere I tell you. Even Bean is starting to do that, check him out passed out in the backyard
  Happy wedding day
You know I had to get a nice coordinated look for our family with my boys matching :). This is just what I love to do. I must say I was pleased with how everything turned out.

Father and son, they are too cute
Me and my hubby, we celebrate our 5-year anniversary next week, crazy I tell you
I love this pic of the family running in the grass. The boys loved the freedom. I loved that they were able to run around, it would have been a pain trying to contain them
Heading to the reception with a sleeping Bean and active Tman
I pretty much spent the afternoon dancing with Jbird on my hip. I love this awesome pic of me holding my Jbird and rocking out that someone took at the party
I told you my boys sleep anywhere. Check out Jbird passed out at the reception
Hubby multi tasking with the boys the next morning. See, he still has one hand available to do things :)

Frozen yoghurt in the city before we left, YAY, the boys loved every minute of it
So happy that we had an uneventful trip, on our way to return the car selfie :)
And because we like pics with monument, my mom and I with the kids at the airport :)
My BFF had an awesome wedding and I am so glad that we were able to be there to celebrate with her. Our trip to Colorado was a great success. Until next time
