Swimming with the boys

Swimming has always been my favorite sport. I lived in the water for most of my childhood and I want the same for my boys. I knew from the moment they were born that I would dunk them in the water as soon as I possibly could :). We did the usual mommy and me classes when they were babies and the time finally came for some real swim lessons so last month we enrolled Tman and Jbird.

We started swim class last month and we go every Monday. The boys love the water so I knew it wouldn't be too difficult to get them excited about this. Tman is really into it because he is not afraid of the water and loves to dive while Jbird loves the water but is always anxious about leaving my side. We are in a set up where Tman is in a class with 2 other kids while Jbird is in a class with 3 other kids but all the parents stay in the water with the 2-year olds.

I of course made a big deal out of the first day of swim lesson as I do. I am a huge proponent of celebrating the kids first anything. We left Bean at home with grandma so that we could focus on our big boys.

And of course a family selfie (minus my Bean) before we got in the water (it feels weird to say family when one important member is missing).
Jbird cried a lot because he didn't want to leave my side but he did so well overall

YAY, jumping in the water finally
 After a nice dunk :)
Tman on the other hand was all smiles and diving like a pro

We've been doing swim lessons on Mondays then family swim on Saturday or Sunday. Hubby's mom and Bean came with us for family swim so that Bean got a chance to get in the water too.
Look at that happy baby Bean in the water

I am so happy that the boys are loving the water and enjoying swim class. This is going to come in handy when we are in Cancun next week :). We plan to continue with swim lessons until the boys are proficient swimmers then they'll get to enjoy the water every Summer and who knows maybe one day join the swim team and become amazing swimmers :). Do your kids swim? Do you want them to?

Weekend fun - Easter celebration

We had such a fun time celebrating Easter two weekends ago (gosh, I am so behind). We kept it low key and just hung out with our family and friends. It was such a great time.

On Saturday, we took the kids to a local Easter egg hunt. They had a set up where the egg hunt was divided into age groups, it was so nice. I love that also staggered the time of each hunt so I was able to give each child my undivided attention during their egg hunt. It was so awesome. Hubby's mom joined in on the fun, it was glorious. It was not the warmest day but we totally made the most of it. On Sunday we all went to church then came home chilled before going back out and meeting with up with more family and friends.

The Easter egg hunt on Saturday was the boys' first real one that was not at our house. Tman was super excited and kept telling me about all the eggs he was going to collect. Jbird and Bean had no idea what was going on but they definitely participated in the event. Hubby would have been content not doing any of this but luckily for us he is a good sport :). Hubby's mom was there with us too, we had a full house.

Chuck-e-cheese was hanging out at the event. The boys were super excited to see him

While we waited to start the egg hunt, I hung out with the big boys and kept them occupied

Bean on the other hand hung out with grandma the whole time.
Then it was time to start the 1 year old hunt. Bean did so well
I love this kid so much, he is so grown up
Then we went to the 2-year old hunt. Jbird was really into it and it made me so happy
I love this toddler so much, such a happy kid

Then we moved on to the 4-year old hunt. Tman took his job really seriously
I love this big boy so much, he is always so excited about everything

The Easter egg hunt was such a great success, we'll do that again next year for sure. On Sunday we all got dressed up, you know how I do it. We managed to go to Church and all came home in one piece :). When we came home, I of course went into full photoshoot mode as I do.
My mom was there too
She attempted to take a picture with the boys and got this gem
Hubby's mom was there too
I did get this awesome picture of my boys, I love these boys of mine
Then my cute niece came and of course my mom tried to take a picture with all the grand kids

Hello there gorgeous

And my favorite picture of the day was this one with the grandmas and all the grand kids. I love that they are all doing their own thing
That was our Easter in a nutshell, such a great celebration. I hope that you had a great time celebrating Easter this year too.

Bean's first week of daycare

It is so surreal to me that my Bean is big enough to go to daycare. I think I need to change his nickname because Bean just doesn't seem fitting anymore :). Well, our Bean turned 13 months and started daycare last week. Up until now, he was staying at home with hubby's parents full time. We are so grateful for supportive parents who do their best to help us with our growing family.

I make a production out of everything my kids do for the first time. I picked their matching outfit the night before, you guys know how obsessed I am with matching my boys. It started as a game and I am totally loving it so I do it everyday now, I know, it's crazy but I love it.

The boys matching outfit, courtesy of my friend C who is totally indulging me and my obsessive behavior.
I drop all the kids off in the morning. It's always so chaotic but you know we wouldn't have it any other way. When we got to Jbird's class, I took a picture with my boys before any meltdown. I am loving Tman and Jbird's faces here, poor Bean wasn't having it but who can blame him on his first day.
I stayed with Bean for a good half hour so that he didn't freak out. He seemed happy to be here
While I was showing him around his room, we of course took a few selfies :)
I tried to introduce him to some new friends but he was not having it.
Thank goodness for his new teacher Ms. Jean who came to the rescue
and because I love Bean and Jbird's sweet faces in this picture, another one of me and my boys
Poor Bean cried like a baby when I left, he did not know what hit him. I did get a message from his teacher during the day to let me know that he didn't cry for very long and did really well for a first day.We survived the first week and though he still cries in the morning, I must say that he is doing much better than Jbird did when he started daycare. I am looking forward to seeing him fully adjusted and waving goodbye when I leave. In due time.

I love that Bean is growing and hitting all these awesome milestones but at the same time it makes me so sad that he is growing and not my little tiny baby anymore. We now have 3 kids in school and daycare, no more babies at home; to say that time is flying is an understatement. First week of daycare was kind of a success. Now let's get Bean fully adjusted to this new routine.
