Election day 2012

This election had a very special meaning to our family. This was hubby's first election where he could actually vote and I was just so happy to be able to take our kids. 4 years ago, hubby was not a US citizen and we didn't have any children. So of course we made this a family event.

We got off work, picked up the kids at daycare then headed to the polls. I was praying for a short wait and it was amazing, we didn't have to wait at all. We were in and out in less than 10 minutes, we never even had to get Jbird out of the carseat. Great success.

Self portrait in the car at the polling station. My hubby is a goofball I tell you
 YAY we just voted :)
That's my family in a nutshell, minus Jbird sleeping in his carseat

Tman pointing to his sticker, he got to push all the buttons for me so he was really happy
This boys is such a goofball like his parents, so love this kid
Jbird was also part of this special day

I love this country, I could not have wished for a better adoptive nation. I am so happy to be part and play a part in all these historic events. Mitt Romney said in his concession speech that he prayed for our president to be successful in guiding our nations. Those were some powerful words. I really appreciated that after all the negative campaign it was refreshing.

I am so happy that we get 4 more years of President Obama. The president's speech was just amazing, so inclusive of everyone, and full of hope. I loved when he said that "together with God's grace we will continue our journey forward". I love that our leader wants to move us forward as one nation while embracing and appreciating all of our differences. I am so proud to be an American today. God bless America.
