Last weekend was wet around these parts and we did absolutely nothing productive with our lives and we loved it. The weekend before on the other hand was the weekend before hubby's birthday and since we have the best family support, we decided to leave the kids and take a mini getaway. We booked 2 nights at a resort not too far from us that we wanted to check out for a few years and off we went.
We dropped the kids at my parents house after work on Friday. Our agenda for the whole weekend was rest, eat and rest some more. A perfect agenda if you ask me and this mini getaway definitely delivered.
In the car, all smiles after we dropped off the kids :)
After we checked in, we went straight for dinner. We were so hungry that I ordered way too much food, never buy food on an empty stomach
We slept like babies that night. Seriously, I slept more than 10 hours. Hubby decided to let me sleep in since that was the theme of the getaway.
The resort was absolutely beautiful. The weather wasn't superb but it was definitely nice enough to walk around and soak in the beauty.
We'll definitely be back in the Summer when it is sweltering hot and we can jump in the pool
We grabbed lunch and it was so yummy
Then we walked the grounds of the resort. Hubby should have slept longer, check him out yawning over there
This place had an indoor pool, YAY
After our little walk we sat by the pool. Hubby was reading his book intensely
But of course I had to bug him to take a selfie :)
Chilling and relaxing by the pool, now that's what I call a break
Hubby was laughing because I wanted to get a pic of my book, you know if there are no pictures then it didn't happen :)
It was such a nice relaxing afternoon. We left the pool after a couple of hours and took an awesome nap. Resting was the theme of this vacation and for sure we milked it. When we woke up from our nap, it was dinner time.
Dinner with my favorite guy
The resort was also beautiful at night. check out that fireplace
We had another awesome night. While we were chilling in the room, I made hubby take a few selfies as I do. The things you do when you have too much time on your hand :)
The next day I made it a point to take a picture by that awesome fireplace, hubby thinks I am crazy
We enjoyed a delicious breakfast the next morning which I was so happy about since we missed breakfast the day before. Do you see a theme here, eating, sleeping, repeat.
Since it was a much nicer day, we went for some putt putt after breakfast
Hubby teaching me some tricks, self timer what up
And before we knew it, we had to head home. One last selfie before we go :)
It was such an awesome mini vacation. We left feeling recharged and rejuvenated :). We are so lucky for our awesome family support. Despite having 3 very young kids we are able to get away once in a while. I think we might make this a trimester event, it was just such a great break from our hectic lives. Do you do mini getaways? You totally should, they are awesome.
Looks like fun!! Its always good to reconnect with your spouse without the children. I could use a mini getaway right now!
ReplyDeleteThis is so awesome. I can't wait to be done with pumping and young kids. Once our youngest is past 1, I'll definitely be taking more mini getaways.

ReplyDeleteSo awesome that you guys got to get away! You look so relaxed, and the resort sounds so fun! We did a big vacation in September but I want to take a mini one over the winter I think!
ReplyDeleteThat resort looks great and the food looked delicious. Yeah for mini getaways.
ReplyDeleteYou know, I just can't stop laughing at that last selfie and the one with the both of you holding your coffee cups... :)
This is perfection! I love the strong family support you both get! So nice when you can keep the romance alive even with such little ones! :)
ReplyDeleteAnd I love mini getaways! They are the best when you just need to recharge and escape reality for a little while.
