Weekend fun - Grown up time

It was another great weekend of fun in our household. We had lots of grown up activities planned that included dinner on Friday, brunch on Saturday morning, and drinks on Saturday night. Very busy as we like it around here. My mom and grandma watched the kids for us as they always do.

The weekend started with dinner out with some of hubby's friends
Then on Saturday I hosted our quarterly ladies brunch. We had one last November and decided to make it happen at least every 3 months. We had such a great time. I sent hubby and the kids to my mom's house so that it would be just us girls :). There was lots of good food and great discussions.
Some of the ladies after the brunch, there were 3 other girls but they left before my hubby got home so we didn't get a chance to have them all in the picture
After brunch, we hung out with the kids all afternoon taking a glorious 2-hour nap with Tman.

Tman singing the itsy bitsy spider, Jbird is just happy to be with his brother

My mom came over after 8pm to spent the rest of the evening with the kids. We got both of them ready for bed then headed out for dinner and drinks with some of hubby's friends. We were out to celebrate someone's birthday and had a great time.

Red and white sangria = delicious
We ate some crab pretzel and uber cute mini crab cake sliders top chef style, yum yum
Somehow the girls ended up doing this crazy shot called a bj. We all looked ridiculous trying to drink without using our hands but it was delicious :)

We didn't get home until 2am. We had such a great time but were obviously very tired. Thankfully our children sleep in and don't really wake up until 8am and Sunday was a chill day. We just chilled and relaxed with my mom and grandma. I was so slow all day that I almost forgot to take a picture with my mom and grandma. I only remembered to take one when they put their jackets on and were ready to leave.
Great fun was had by all. Grown up weekend fun was a total success. I definitely like the idea of doing lots on Saturday and chilling on Sunday. It gives us time to recuperate until Monday. Hope you all had a great weekend too.

  2. Sounds like fun adult weekends. I haven't had a bj in a while, but I love those! You mom and grandma are so amazing, always there to spend time with the little ones and give you guys time alone. I hope I have that once I have kids!

    1. The bj was so good. I have never had one. I think I have been living under a rock :). We definitely take advantage of having my family nearby. That's the major reason why we moved home once we were pregnant.

  8. I like this quarterly ladies brunch idea. I think it's a fantastic way to hang out with friends without the children. There's nothing that beats having your family around when you start having children. I am realizing that now. Your boys are just too cute!
