Thoughts on baby #4

You don't even know how many times people have asked me about baby #4, particularly the moment we found out that Bean was going to be a boy. I have had these thoughts about baby #4 in my head for a while now and I decided to share it, so here it goes.

I am also sharing the pictures from two weekends ago when we hung out with the family and did our last cookout of the season. It was a glorious day with a bunch of happy kids :).
4 generations with all the grandchildren
The second after I gave birth to my Tman, I knew there was going to be a baby #2 in our future. The minute after I gave birth to my Jbird, I knew there was going to be a baby #3 in our future. Something strange happened after we had Bean, I didn't think about a baby #4. I actually thought that we could be done. Hubby definitely felt like we were done :).
The boys always run to hubby when he comes back from his run
Three young kids so close in age is definitely not for the faint of heart. It's hard work, it's expensive, it's a lot of responsibilities, it turns your world upside down, it makes your life chaotic but let me tell you it is so worth every second. You might be a zombie for years and never get a moment alone but I swear we felt that we were born for this challenge and everyday we thank God for this blessing and the lives of these children that he entrusted in us.

We slowly got adjusted to life with 3 kids then our routine was completely thrown off when I returned to work full time 5 months ago. Luckily 2 months into it we were back into a great routine with all 3 kids. We can't even believe how easy things have been the past few months. We got this 3 baby business down to a science now and it feels good.

Something totally amazing happened , around the time Bean turned 7 months, which is usually when we have our when to have the next baby talk. Hubby and I talked about baby #4 and none of us wanted to run away :). I was totally on board and hubby was slightly hesitant but we both thought that our family was not quite complete. It doesn't help that Bean is just the sweetest, nicest, chill and happiest baby you've ever met.

I might have to do some convincing when the time comes because from time to time hubby says that we are done when one of the kids throws a major tantrum but to me, that's just life with young kids. I am excited at the prospect of another pregnancy and another baby. We are in a sweet spot though because even if we were done here, I feel like our family is perfect the way it is and would only be even more perfect with another baby in it  ;).
As far as the sex of the baby goes, to be perfectly honest, I would love to have a girl. I know we will be happy no matter what the sex of the baby is because our desire for a 4th baby is stronger than our desire for a girl but all my prayers go something like "a healthy baby girl please." Hubby's comment on the subject was "well if it's 4 boys, we can dress them up like ninja turtles for Halloween one year." I know, my hubby is full of wisdom like that.

Anyway, God willing, there will be a baby #4 in our future. If we are lucky to get there, Baby #4 will be our finale, the baby that completes our family. After baby #4, we will close down our baby making factory and raise our kids :).
For now, we enjoy the 3 boys that we have while I daydream that this time next year, I could be sporting a bump, if I am lucky :).

We heart visitors and shopping

Hubby's friends came to visit and we had so much fun with them. They live in London and took a two week trip across the U.S. with a stop in our city. We spent a few days hanging out with them. They loved spending time with the boys and I am so happy that we have encouraged them to get cracking on the baby making :).

Hubby and C used to live together in College 10 years ago. Insane how much time has flown. C has been there since hubby and I met, she has truly watched our relationship blossom through the years. Anyway, while they were here, my mom watched the kids so that we could go out like grown ups that we are.

Ready to go out and doing our typical picture before departure :)
I of course had to take a selfie with hubby while we were out
Our guests for the evening
We ordered this huge margarita and shared, it was glorious
Group picture anyone
The next morning, C and the boys chilling in Tman's room
Us with the boys, chaos ensued
C's boyfriend was so good with Bean
We had a ball hanging out with hubby's friend, we were definitely sad to see them go. I am psyched because we get to hang out with C again next Saturday in London. I know, so exciting. Hubby and I are off to London to attend a friend's wedding. We are only taking Bean with us and leaving the big boys with my mom and hubby's parents.

Anyway, I braved the mall with the boys last weekend. I needed to get the boys some new shoes and had to bring them along. I enlisted the help of hubby's mom and I was able to get everything I needed without anyone getting super crazy. Victory is mine.

Me and Bean getting our shopping on
Tman and Jbird on a car ride, they were loving it

I am so happy that C was able to come visit. We heart visitors and just love hosting them. Next weekend we will be hanging out in London, YAY, it is so surreal but oh so exciting. Hope you had a great weekened too

Weekend fun - pumkin patch

We took the kids out to the pumpkin patch a few weekends ago and I am just now finally getting around to talk about it. I am so slow sometimes.

We have friends that we consider family that live far from us so we don't get to see them often anymore. To remedy that problem, we plan monthly event so that we know for sure that we are hanging out every month and our kids will grow up knowing each other. We call these family dinners. Now that we have kids that are big enough and want to do stuff, we plan our family dinners around activities for the kids.

Two weekends ago, we took the kids to the pumpkin patch. This was the first time that we went to this particular patch and I must say I really liked it. This is going to be my new favorite pumpkin patch. They have plenty for the kids to do in addition to an awesome pumpkin patch. The boys were amazed and loved every activity.

My boys were never interested in the corn maze but this year, they are big enough to appreciate it. Score.

We attempted to get a family picture and all the kids joined us. I guess this is what our family would look like with 5 kids
We went to the petting zoo and let the boys pet the goats, Jbird was all about it while Tman was not impressed
Then we did a few fun rides. The boys loved this one where they were being pulled by a tractor

After that we did the ATV rides. I went with Jbird since he was too small to ride
Let me tell you it was hard, I was struggling to go up the hill
Hubby tried to help Tman but he was not impressed because he was going so slowly
Luckily uncle Frank came to the rescue
He also came to the rescue when Jbird decided he wanted to go again and this poor mama was just too tired to pedal up the hill
Uncle Frank is pretty cool like that, he happens to be Jbird's godfather
We did manage to get a group picture on the hayride. I love these people just like family, can't believe we've been hanging out for the past 15 years.
Hubby looking super cool multitasking with Tman and the baby
The I decided to do the measurement for the boys. Maybe I'll keep it up every year and see how much they grow from year to year
My handsome and rambunctious first born
My calm yet fierce second born
After all the fun it was time to let the boys loose at the pumpkin patch. Let me tell you how much my boys love this kind of stuff, the freedom to run around unsupervised with no restriction, sign them up
They each picked their pumpkins and they were so proud of themselves
Jbird, please go for a pumpkin that is more your size

Me and my big boy taking a selfie, my little mini-me right here
After all the running around, Jbird was tired so he got a ride with the pumpkins. Look at that happy face
We had such an awesome time at the pumkin patch. The boys had a ball. I am so glad they had a lot of activities to keep them occupied. We were so tired after spending 3 hours chasing these rugrats. The happy smiles on their faces make it all so worth it. Can't wait to take them again next year. Now let's do something fun with those pumpkins that we picked. If you haven't gone to the pumpkin patch, you totally should try it. It is a great way to get the kids out for some fun.
