Weekend fun - Pump it up

We always try to make the best of the weekend. After all the hustle and bustle of the week, this is our time to spend with the kids and do fun things. This is why the weekend is always fun in our book. we usually make plans on Saturdays and chill on Sundays to recharge our batteries. This weekend we went to a birthday party for a 4 year old at a place with bouncing inflatables and it was so much fun.

Before delving into the weekend, I want to share some fun pictures we took during the week when my mom came to visit. She usually comes on Sundays to spend the day but she got out early and wanted to spend some time with the kids. I know, she is amazing. I love her.
I love this pic of me and my Jbird
My Tman excited about his 3D glasses
I love this pic, Jbird and I are looking at Tman being silly. We totally have the same pose :)
My mom and Jbird, we were passing my mom's hat around all night
Smiley and happy Jbird
On Saturday we went to a birthday party at this cool place called pump it up. It has gigantic inflatables and it's just an all day jumpfest. Tman loves to jump so I knew he would enjoy this party. The party was a super hero theme so we put Tman in a Superman outfit.

As soon as we got there, I got a family picture :)
Then we were off to jumping, well Tman and hubby were

There was also a slide, hubby helped Tman up and they came down with huge grins

I hung out with Jbird most of the time
I did want to try the slide because it looked like so much fun so down we went
The birthday party was a hit, Tman had so much fun
The birthday cake was delicious. Tman, my little Superman, enjoyed it for sure
Chilling with my Jbird before we left the party
The party was a great success. I am coming back to pump it up. Great indoor fun for a kid that loves to jump, heck for any kid. Perfect outing during the cold months.

The rest of the weekend was just spent chilling and relaxing at home. We did nothing productive and it felt great. Well, hubby actually put together Tman's alphabet foam mat for Jbird to use. Jbird has been moving around more, rolling everywhere and I feel better that it's on a soft padded foam. Plus if he is sitting up and falls at least it's padded and soft.

Jbird watching hubby put the mat together. He did it when Tman was napping because we didn't want him to make a mess of the whole thing before it was even put together
Jbird testing out the mat, we think he likes it

Then Tman woke up and both kids got to test out the mat together. We think they love it
How sweet is Tman kissing his brother's feet. He is an awesome big brother I tell you

And the main reason we brought the mat out, check out Jbird's move. He is not crawling or anything but he is definitely loving the floor right now. Not bad for a kid that hated tummy time
Another great weekend. was had by all We look forward to next weekend  already packed with activities. Hope you had a great weekend too.

A day at the museum

My BFF Melissa wanted to come visit the boys but she was booked for the next few weekends.  We decided to take a day off during the week and take Tman to the museum of natural history that way we could hang out and he could get some indoor fun activity. I was sold, I love to take time off to hang out with my kids whenever I can :).

The museum of natural history made the most sense because Tman is fascinated by animals right now. Whenever he recites the alphabet it's all about the animals, it always goes something like A is for ants, L is for Lion, T is for Tiger, and so on. He is also into dinosaurs and what better place for this.

At the entrance of the Dinosaur exhibit
I took loads of pics and Tman and Melissa hanging around the museum :)
We spent a lot of time in the dinosaur exhibit, Tman was fascinated. I ended up getting him a T-rex and a dinosaur book

Teeth, look at those teeth. These two are so funny together. I love it
This is where I am from :). We couldn't resist once we found a map of Africa in the African section

We went down to the water area and saw a giant whale, Tman was fascinated. W is for whale :)
Then we played with the aquarium, Tman was loving it

Then we went inside the butterfly retreat, look at all the colorful butterflies
Look at that beautiful butterfly on Melissa
 Surrounded by butterflies
We went down to the museum store and bought a book and a T-rex for Tman, my boy was so excited
Melissa is a riot :), she geared up for Jurassic park
After a fun filled day, Melissa hung out with the boys at home

Tman wanted to read the dinosaur book before bed, this kid is officially in love with dinosaurs. D is not for dog anymore but for dinosaur now :)
What a fun day. I truly enjoyed taking the day off to hang out with Tman and Melissa. We had a ball at the museum. With the persisting cold weather, another trip to the museum might be in store for us in the near future. Do you sometimes take time off impromptu to do fun things? Isn't so much fun?

#Projectmilf week 3 - three things

This week is about sharing three things about ourselves in an effort to get to know each other better. So here are my three things

1. French is my native language, I didn't actually start learning English until I was about 13 years old when we found out we were moving to America. Now I am bilingual and dream in both English and French depending on the situation. It's kind of crazy.

2. I talk to my mom everyday, sometimes twice a day. I am so happy that we are so close and can talk about everything and anything for hours. We didn't always have the best relationship, particularly when I was a teenager but I finally came to my senses and it's been the best ever. This is probably the reason why I hope to have a daughter one day and build a strong mother/daughter bond with her. I clearly have no control over this so all I can do is hope.

3. I love to put on makeup. I almost never leave my house with a bare face. I know, pretty shallow. It just makes my skin look so much better. I didn't use to wear makeup but once I started, I was hooked. I have it down to a science, it takes me no time to put it on and it forces me to wash my face everyday.

I mean look at the difference in my skin with and without makeup

As far as my goals this week, things are moving slowly but surely. Nothing new to report really.

Because I don't think a post is complete without pictures of my kids, here are a few.

My handsome little man
Bedtime routine self portrait. My hubby always makes ridiculous faces when I take these kind of pics. I guess I can't blame him they are pretty lame
My Jbird trying to eat my face, I say he was trying to give me a kiss, a very sloppy kiss :)
Hope you are doing well with your goals.

Weekend fun - the Presidents' day edition

To say that we were busy this past weekend is an understatement. It was a good kind of busy so I guess that's ok. Tman had been asking to go to Chuck e Cheese for a few weeks so we figured this weekend would be perfect for that. We also started Jbird on solid food and that was interesting. We also had a play date with other kids and it was awesome. Gotta love a packed weekend.

Chuck e Cheese was a hit as always. Tman was in heaven. Now I see why kids love this place. Tman just wanted to play with everything, I was just running after him all over the place.

My hubby hung out with Jbird while I was following Tman around. He was bored out of his mind. His bored face says it all :)
We ate dinner then went back to playing
Hubby decided that he wanted to follow Tman around this time. He was definitely less bored :)
It was such a great day. Tman went to bed early and slept for more than 11 hours. The day was a great success in my book :). While getting ready for bed that night, my Tman did his best cheese face. Colgate commercial anyone? Love my silly boy
After Chuck e Cheese we came home and introduced Jbird to his first taste of solid food. Tman's first meal was avocado so in keeping with the tradition we started Jbird with some avocado too. The funny thing is that I love avocado and during both pregnancies I was really fond of avocado and ate it all the time.

Here is my Jbird ready for some food. Where is my food people?
Also in keeping with the tradition, hubby gave Jbird his first spoonful as he did  with Tman 2 years ago. Gotta love traditions.
Jbird was not really feeling it, he kept making this unhappy face followed by gagging
I decided to give it a try hoping that my mommy's touch would do the trick
Nope, my Jbird was just not a fan of avocado for sure. He just started crying and gagging
Three spoonful later, first feeding was over. Tman really wanted to sit next to Jbird so we let him
First taste of solid food was not a success but this is just the beginning. Bring on all the fun food that the world has to offer. Jbird, you don't even know what's in store for you.

The weekend was still not over, this is why I heart 3-day weekends. We had a play date with two great friends from college. Between us we have 7 small children between the ages of 4 years and 6 months. We have clearly been busy the past few years. Here are all the kids minus Jbird who was sleeping when we took this picture.
The kids enjoying snacks and drinks at the big table, they were actually pretty excited though you couldn't tell from this picture :)
The trampoline was a huge hit. The kids loved it. We tried to get them in there one at a time but that was not going to happen, kids I tell you. At least they were getting along
Tman and S were having so much together. They are only 5 months apart and they love to play together. They kept filling the box with balls then throwing them in the air followed by jumps, screams and  giggles. This was apparently a lot of fun. Proof that you don't need much to entertain kids.

What a fun weekend I tell you. I absolutely love 3-day weekends, I wish all my weekends were this long. One day maybe, I can work one less day a week and make it happen, one day. Hope you guys had a great weekend too.
