Jbird is 4 months
Our little Jbird is 4 months old, wow, I can't get over the fact that time is flying so much. Our sweet little boy is no longer a tiny little baby, he is a big boy for sure and his personality is totally shining through.
He is still such a chill and happy baby. He doesn't cry often but apparently he doesn't like my photoshoot
Our rolly polly is 18lbs 9oz, 95th percentile you guys. Look at these ridiculously beautiful rolls everywhere. I just love kissing them all day long
Jbird is doing so well, rolling all over the place, attempting to sit up on his own, grabbing onto everything in sight, and talking up a storm. We are very happy with how well he is doing with all his milestones.
We are however less than happy with his sleeping habits. Our Jbird still doesn't sleep more than 4 hours at a time. He sleeps often just no more than 4 hours at a time. Sleep deprivation is becoming our way of life over here. Luckily for us he doesn't cry much and is not really fussy. When he wakes up in the middle of the night he just wants to hang out and babble away. Not cool at 3am Jbird, not cool.
Are you talking about me momma? I don't think so :). He is still such a chill baby my Jbird. We are not willing to let him cry it out so I guess we'll just be sleep deprived for now. My sweet second boy is worth the sleep deprivation
And because I love looking at both my boys at the same stage, here is our little Tman at 4 months old
How is my baby 1/3 of the way to a year already. Crazy talk I tell you. I am loving every minute of it, sleep deprivation and all. I am looking forward to celebrating his first Christmas in a few days.
Speaking of first Christmas, I finally got Jbird's first Christmas ornament, YAY. Our tree is now complete
Tman's ornament from 2 years ago
We are ready to celebrate Christmas and welcome the new year. Happy 4 months to my Jbird. You came into the world and made our lives so much better.

Weekend fun - Christmas party
I am heartbroken for the victims of the Sandy Hook Elementary school shooting. What a tragedy. My heart goes out to their families. I can't even begin to imagine what they are going through right now. I pray that God provides for them in this very difficult time.I definitely held my kids longer this weekend in the wake of this tragedy. No one should ever have to bury their kids ever. I am keeping those families in my prayers.
This weekend was our Christmas party. This year we decided to have it at someone's house and include all the kids. I am really glad they chose that option because we didn't want to leave the kids behind. I put my kids in their matching sweaters (I definitely got my money's worth I tell you) and we headed to the party.
I always try to take a family picture before we do anything in case the kids get their clothes dirty or something like that and they have to change. We are all looking at the camera and smiling (well kinda), great success
They had a train set and you know how Tman is obsessed with trains. He watched it go around the tree for over an hour
Then he learned how to push the buttons to make the noise and move the train. He was definitely entertained all evening
I spent the majority of the evening hanging out with my Jbird and mingling too of course
I tried taking a picture of hubby with the kids by the tree and Tman pretended to be shy. Please child, I know how you roll, just smile for the camera :).
And before we left we got another family picture and I am loving Tman's perfect smile
We enjoyed the Christmas party. I loved that it was kid friendly and hosted at a house which made it more relaxed and easy to keep the kids entertained.
On Sunday my brothers came over and we watched the game, it was great fun
Look who is using Sophie the giraffe now.
Our team won again this weekend which made us very happy. Playoffs anyone? I am looking forward to next Sunday's game. We'll have a full house, hubby's parents arrive tomorrow to spend Christmas with us. It was another fun weekend for us, I hope you had a great weekend.

Post partum recovery - Haircut
I finally got my hair relaxed last week. My hair was so damaged and uneven from all the shedding that I had to cut about 3 inches to even things out. I am now back to APL a long way away from waist length (insert sad face). Despite the shedding and cut, I am overall happy with the state of my hair. It's not as bad as it was with Tman and it still feels somewhat long. I am looking forward to the end of the shedding and hair growing again.
I am thinking of braiding my hair so that I don't have to see all the hair falling everyday. My cousin has these super cute braids and I kinda want to do something like this. Here she is with Jbird.
My new length, my ends look much better after the trim. I am happy with the overall state of my hair.
I officially have a receding hairline. My right side is the worst. I have an actual patch of hair missing, gotta love a bald spot (I am being sarcastic of course)
Luckily for me I figured out a way to style my hair in a way that would hide the bald spot. This allows me to wear my hair out without shame. My hair is thinner but it works. I might get away with not wearing a wig this time around but I am not holding my breath.
My post partum recovery has been awesome except for this hair loss business. I have whined so much to hubby about it that he came up with this great suggestion "why don't you just shave it all until we are done having kids." Men I tell you. I will not be following that advice.
My Jbird is worth it all. I am hating the hair loss but loving this sweet face.
So this is where we are at 4 months post partum. Did any of you moms experience post partum shedding? Was it dramatic? How did you manage it?

Game day
This past Sunday was a pretty important day for our team at least that's what hubby and my brothers said. We invited a few friends over for a little game day get together. The boys got decked out in their team's outfit and we all watched the game. Luckily for us our team won after almost giving us a heart attack. Go skins. It was a great Sunday game day. I am lucky that my brothers and mom always come over on Sundays and we all hang out all day.
My BFF HJ came over for the festivities. We asked her to be Jbird's Godmother and she said yes. We are so happy, Jbird is one lucky kid
The girls with Jbird, even Jbird was decked out in our team's gear
We were trying to take a pic and Tman jumped in, he's adorable so we let him :)
We did get a pic of just us, ever since I discovered leggins, I now live in them :)
My brothers and my boys showing their team spirit
I love this picture of Jbird with my brothers
My mom hanging out with Jbird, that kid gets around
Tummy time fun, Tman wanted to show Jbird how his bus worked, look how comfortable Jbird looks on his tummy. He is finally starting to like tummy time, it's a miracle
And of course a picture with my main squeeze also wearing our team's colors
Sunday game day was a great success made even better by the fact that our team won. We are looking forward to next Sunday's game, we need to keep our winning record. We didn't leave the house at all yet we had loads of fun. What is your Sunday routine? Do you watch any football?

We went bowling
This past weekend was supposed to be a chill weekend until hubby's friends asked us to go bowling with them on Saturday. We couldn't resist because we love bowling well hubby does because he is good at it. We also thought it would be great to actually leave the house and hang out with some adults :).
In order for hubby to actually bowl, we had to make sure that Tman was sleeping, I can really only handle one kid at a time. We decided to wear him out in the morning so that he could fall asleep in the car on the way to the bowling alley. Our plan worked out perfectly, by the time we got to the bowling alley he was sleeping like a rock. Luckily for us our Tman can sleep anywhere.
Jbird was awake the whole time so we hung out and watched hubby play
2 hours of uninterrupted bowling fun, gotta love a toddler that can nap anywhere
Tman woke up right after hubby played his last game, perfect timing if you ask me
We got to take our usual family picture
When we got home my little sidekick and I modeled our outfits, we were feeling stylish plus I figured this outfit was way more exciting than work clothes and would be perfect for Faith's #yeahiamwearingthis. The boots are from Macys, the leggings from Old Navy, the shirt and tank top from New York and Co. I am loving the legging and boots look, totally stole it from Faith :).
After we got home from bowling and food shopping we just chilled and relaxed. We played with the kids, had dinner then sat down and watched some of our tv series saved on the DVR. While I was sitting on the couch my little Jbird started giggling away like it was going out of style. I was able to capture this awesome smile of my little Jbird with a little drool on the side. I so love this kid and those cheeks.
My view from the couch of my boys hanging out. Jbird's confused look, Tman's awesome smile, and hubby doing the bunny ears in the background from his favorite seat in the house. Perfect.
Our Christmas tree, lighting up the room. I just love this time of the year
We had a great time bowling and chilling on this beautiful Saturday of December. This day was a perfect mix of busy and relax, my kind of weekend day. Hope you had fun this past weekend.

A day in the life
Since I returned to work over a month ago, I wanted to do this day in
our life, our new normal. Since we had a beautiful December day last Monday and I
was going to dress up for work, I figured this would be a great day to
document our day in pictures. Obviously we are not robots and things don't
always happen at those exact times. Heck things don't always happen as
planned but this is more of a general idea.
6:30 - Wake up, my alarm usually goes off at 6:15 but I don't get out of bed until later. Usually both Jbird and Tman are still asleep so I take this opportunity to shower and get ready.
Before I got ready to start the day. Gotta love nursing bras, they make for easy feeding
Ready to go wake the baby up. I put make up on everyday. It makes me feel put together.
The shedding has slowed down a lot, I only got this little bit of hair after combing today. Score.
6:45 - Hubby wakes up and gets ready
7:00 - I wake Jbird up if he is not already awake, get him ready then we go downstairs to get breakfast. Hubby wakes Tman up and gets him ready. Divide and conquer is our motto. I have Jbird and hubby has Tman
7:10 - We are all downstairs having breakfast. We usually have a bowl of cereal while watching the news or sport. I also nurse Jbird during this time.
Tman loves to sit next to me while I nurse Jbird. He usually is watching an Elmo video on the computer or the Ipod touch
7:30 - Pack up the kids and leave the house. Hubby takes Jbird to my parents' house while I take Tman to daycare with me. Divide and conquer :)
Hubby putting Tman's jacket on
Since you all loved that red dress from New York and Co as much as I did, here is another peek
8:10 - Arrive at Tman's daycare, enjoy breakfast with him if he is in the mood or just drop him off. I am so lucky that his daycare is a mere 5 min walking distance from my office. Today he didn't have breakfast since we ate before we left. I still hung out with him for a bit, I always hang out for a bit because I can and he likes it.
Tman and his classmates
Tman in front of the class' guinea pig pets, he is usually excited about them
8:30 - Arrive at work. Work is the easiest part of my day :). I am here for 8.5 hours. I pump twice while I am at work usually at 10:00 and 16:00. Gotta love having a pretty set schedule, it makes for an easygoing workday.
I have three bags you guys, my breast pump, my purse and my lunch bag. Call me bag lady
The milk I pumped today. Took the picture when I got home. I know, I am a cow at least for another 9 months.
17:00 - Leave work, pick up Tman and head home
Check this out 70 degrees in December, I told you it was a beautiful day of December
17:45 - Arrive at home. Hubby and Jbird are usually home already. Hubby works much closer to the house than I do. As soon as I get home, I change into some comfortable clothes then get started with dinner while hubby plays with the kids. Meal planning and prepping has greatly reduced the length of time I spend cooking after work.
Before we changed today, we were in the office doing something so I snapped this picture of us in front of the mirror
Hubby chilling with the kids while I am in the kitchen getting busy :). Stereotypical much.
Today I made one of my favorite meals, grilled Tilapia with rice and spinach. I always make enough for dinner and lunch the next day. Our plates before we started chowing down on some food :).
18:45 - Dinner is ready by now. If I am up to it, I'll go do 20 minutes of Zumba or some sort of exercise. If not then I'll just play with my kids for a little bit.
Today I was not up for working out so I just hung out with the kids.
19:00 - Dinner is served. We are so lazy that we usually just eat in front of the TV. Lame I know but it's just way too much effort to set up the table and all plus this way we get to catch up with our TV shows. After dinner we just chill with the kids and catch up on our day.
Hubby with Jbird before dinner
20:30 - It's bath time. We take the kids upstairs for their bath. Again divide and conquer works for us, I give Jbird his bath while hubby gives Tman his bath. It works great, we get both kids ready at the same time while being in the same room therefore hanging out :). We usually skip bath times twice a week to give ourselves a break. It's not like these kids get that dirty anyway.
Today we skipped bath time and it felt great. More time playing and hanging out.
21:00 - We come back downstairs where Tman takes his night time bottle while I nurse Jbird
21:15 - It's bedtime. Hubby takes Tman to bed while I continue to nurse Jbird who usually falls asleep on the boob at this stage. I put Jbird in the napper downstairs with us because he is going to be awake in 3 hours or less anyway, why take him upstairs.
21:30 - Both kids are finally asleep. YAY. Hubby and I hang out, just us and it's great. We catch up on TV shows (gotta love DVR), cuddle, talk about our day without screaming at a child. The bonus is because it's Christmas, we are chilling with the tree and some hot cocoa. Life is good.
23:15 - We go upstairs and get ready for bed
23:30 - Hubby goes to bed while I stay downstairs to pump while watching tv or reading blogs (yeah, I have my little me time while pumping).
24:00 - Jbird usually wakes up, I change his diaper then feed him a bottle of the pumped milk and he goes right back to sleep. I can finally go to sleep too. YAY.
3:30 - Jbird wakes up to nurse. After we nurse we go right back to sleep until 6:30 when the cycle starts over again.
That was our day in a nutshell. Our little Jbird still doesn't sleep more than 4 hours at a time but it's expected at his young age. It's amazing to me that I function so well on so little sleep and I love it. We started co-sleeping again about 2 weeks after I went back to work. I just find it much easier this way. The bonus of co-sleeping is that I get to be close to my baby all night. I only get to see him a few hours during the day so I will take it wherever I can.
