Love story link up

I am linking up with  Becky from Mrs to mama (http://www.frommrstomama.com/) and doing a cute survey that she has on her blog for Valentine's day. Check it out, it's a lot of fun.

1. How long have you and your significant other been together?
We've been together for almost 6 years

2. How did you meet? {What's your "love" story?}
We met through mutual friends. My friend Melissa was studying abroad in England and dating my future husband's friend. When I went to visit her spring break of 2005, we took a trip to Spain with my future husband and other friends. I posted the long version of the story a few post back. Never in a million years did I think that this would change my life forever for the better.

3. If married, how long have you been married? If not, is this the guy you hope to marry? {do tell}
It will be 3 years in July

4. If you are married, where did you get married at? Big or small wedding?  If not, where would you like to get married? And will it be big or small?
We had a big wedding with 380 guests. My husband is from London and over 60 people traveled from overseas to be at our wedding. We got married at the Church that I attended since high school, 10 minutes from my parents house. We had our reception 5 minutes away from the Church . My wedding was everything I could have dreamed of and more, more importantly, it was a beautiful and fun day that we got to spend with our friends and family.

5. Do you have any nick-names that you call one another? Do share!
We call each other "baby", we are pretty lame like that but we have so much fun together :)

 6. Name 3 things you love most about your honey.
 - The way he is with our son. He is the best dad ever. I fall in love with him more each day that I see him with our baby. I can't wait to have more babies with this man
 - He is such a fun person to be around. His sense of humor is definitely different but once you get it, you just love it.
 - He always put me and our family first. He moved across pond to be with me, just to move again across the pond for my job, just to move again across the pond because I wanted to be close to my family for our baby. He is great.
7. Tell us how he proposed? Or your ideal proposal?
Funny story actually. It was on April fools day of 2008, so typical for my husband. We were in DC checking out the cherry blossoms near the tidal basin. My husband got on one knee and asked me to marry me and the first words out of my mouth were "do you have a ring?"...hahahaha. One it was April fools and who does something like that on that day and two we had only been in DC for 2 days when did he get a chance to get the ring. Yep he had a ring. I knew it was coming but it was so nice when it actually happened. In good old Englishman fashion, he actually asked for my parents' permission before asking me. How sweet is this kid?

8. Is he a flowers and teddy bear kind of guy for v-day, or strawberries, champagne, and rose petals?
He is definitely a flowers and teddy bear kind of guy.
9. Are you a sunset dinner on the beach kind of girl, or pop a movie in and relax on the couch?
I am totally a sunset dinner on the beach kind of girl. However with a little baby in tow, relax on the couch is more practical. We did take the baby with us to a dinner set up on the beach in Cancun and let him sleep in his stroller while we had dinner, we are those parents.

 10. Tell us one thing you'd like to do with your significant one day. If you could do anything? Go anywhere?
I would love to go to Bora Bora on one of those private islands with a house on the water kind of place. I've seen pictures and it's like nothing I could possibly imagine.

11. Tell us what you plan on doing on this Valentine's Day.
We are not really big on Valentine's day. There are just too many things to celebrate and frankly I don't need or want to celebrate our love only on one day. We'll probably do our usual dinner and chill in front of the TV. Take that Valentine's day.
12. Are you asking for anything this Valentine's day?
Nah, I don't really care to get anything for Valentine's day. I am sure hubby will get me some flowers (he always does even though I told him I don't really care).
13. Give us one piece of advice of keeping a relationship strong and full of love.
Communication is key. Making sure that you are always communicating with each other and letting each other know how you feel about any issues that may arise in your relationship. Also very important is to always show your significant other that you love and cherish them. Everyone wants to feel loved, you love them so make sure to show them. Another great advice is continue to have fun with each other like you did from the beginning of your relationship. Having fun together solves a lot of problems :).

14.  Show us a picture of what love means to you.
