Weekend fun

The hubby decided to take Tman and his parents to a baseball game to get them out of the house. It was a great success. I didn't go because I wasn't ready to take Jbird out of the house for such a big outing and I wasn't ready to leave him for more than 3 hours just yet. I know, I am a crazy mom like that, I always wait until the baby is at least a month and gets some shots before taking him out in public. Tman had so much fun that we'll definitely do it again soon.

Hubby was so tired from being out in the sun all day that he took a much needed nap with Jbird when he got home. If you didn't notice nap pics are also a favorite of mine :).

We also finally gave Jbird his first bath and I am now officially setting his hands free. No more mittens for my baby. I love this milestone because I love when they start to discover their hands and fingers.

My mom gave Tman his first bath so in keeping with the tradition, she also gave Jbird his first bath. Check out my little boy, he didn't even cry a bit. First bath was a great success.

Yep, it was a fun weekend and a sweet milestone for my little Jbird. I am so looking forward to all the great milestones coming our way soon. I hope to document them as well as I did Tman's.

A lot of randomness

We spend our days hanging out with Tman's grandparents and my grandmother. My mom and hubby usually join in on the fun at the end of the day after work. I take lots of pics during the day and they usually just seem random by themselves but together they tell the story of our day. These are just random pics from our week.

I just can't get enough of these two. Tman is so psyched about hanging out with his brother and Jbird is getting so big everyday. I am so in love with these boys

That was a lot of randomness for sure and that's our week in a nutshell. Life at home with two is tiring and overwhelming but it is so amazing everyday. We are sleep deprived and even a little cranky but oh so happy. I am so glad that I have two kids, what a blessing.

August birthdays

August is a big birthday month in my family. My mom and youngest brother are both end of August babies so every year we do a little something for them. Well this year since I just had a baby, we just bought some cake and celebrated at home. It was actually a very nice celebration and they both loved it. Tman thought it was his birthday each time and wanted to blow the candles :).

It's been a busy few weeks with lots of birthday celebrations. We have my other brother's and hubby's birthdays coming up next month.

Our new normal

Our days are pretty much similar nowadays. The first 2 weeks were spent resting and trying to find a little routine. Poor Tman spent most days inside. After the first 2 weeks I felt it was time to cater to my Tman too so I reinstated water play in the morning.

So most days we wake up, eat breakfast then we set up the pool on the deck for Tman to play. He is in heaven, he loves being in the water and he is enjoying the nice weather.

Gosh, his cheesy smiles are my new favorite. This is pretty much what I get every time I say "smile for the camera"

I am usually cuddling up with Jbird during this time. After water play it's bath time followed by lunch time followed by nap time. Tman still naps 2 to 3 hours everyday such a blessing. He has a hard time going down at bedtime but that's another story.

After nap time, I hang out/play a bit with my Tman then we have snack time then we head out for a walk. I started to take the boys out for a walk everyday about a week ago. The first time was a total fiasco but we've managed to do better since. Tman just loves leaving the house and though we don't go far or don't walk for long, he is happy to be out for a little bit.

These pics are from the first day we went for a walk. It was only a 15 min walk in the end, I didn't time it right and my poor Jbird started crying about 5 min into the walk and we had to go back. He must have been hungry.

By the time we come back from the walk it's time to get dinner ready. Luckily I don't have to cook anything (gotta love African tradition, the mom is not supposed to go in the kitchen for at least a month after giving birth). My grandma or mother in law make all the meals for us. We eat then chill for a bit.

Jbird eats whenever he is ready and Tman always wants to help feed him. I let him because I think it's the sweetest thing and I definitely want him to feel involved with the baby.

After dinner Jbird usually gets burbed by daddy and get some much needed daddy and me time

Then he comes back to hang out with his mama while daddy and Tman play with blocks or read a book or something of that nature. That is my view while I chill on the couch with Jbird. Usually I am cuddling with Jbird but I wanted him to be in the pic :).

Eventually it's time to get ready for bed. Tman always wants to hang out with me and Jbird while he drinks his last bottle of the day. I love that hubby took this beautiful pic of me and my boys, I just wish I didn't have a plastic bag on my head. I guess we can't look great for every pic eh.

That is our day in a nutshell at least for the next few weeks. It's a pretty good day for sure mostly chilling and relaxing and hanging out with the boys. I am looking forward to being able to take Tman and Jbird to the playground soon. I better enjoy the next 7 weeks of my maternity leave because after that we won't have this much time to hang out until the weekend.

My little Jbird is one amazing baby. He nurses so well which makes my job so much easier. He sleeps so well, though I only get a few hours at a time, I can always count on those few uninterrupted hours. He is overall pretty chilled and relaxed. We are in love, tired but so in love.

What a serious little boy, he is already so much more mellow than his brother.

Jbird is such a great baby. I am totally enjoying every minute of this baby phase. I wish I could bottle it up and save it for later.

I couldn't possibly put lots of pics of my 2nd boy without any pics of my first boy. He was crying over something silly but what a cute face. I fall for it every time.

And I have this awesome pic of hubby and Tman from Tman's birthday that my sister took on her camera. I just love this sweet father and son moment she captured so well.
