About a year ago I started my healthy hair journey. What really triggered everything was the massive hair loss I experienced after I had my first child. I have been extremely pleased with the results of taking good care of my hair
July 2010 pregnant with T-man, my hair is neck length
June 2011, at the beginning of my hair journey, my hair is shoulder length
November 2011, my hair is APL and I could use a trim
March 2012, after a much needed trim between APL and BSL
July 2012, a little over a year later and my hair is BSL and healthy. PS I am loving that I still see my waist at 35 weeks pregnant :)
I had to wear a shirt for the frontal pics, too much boob. You can see that my edges are not an issue anymore
And just because, the belly at 35 weeks
I hope that the hair loss is not too major this time around (I probably won't be as shocked). Either way I know my hair will turn around, so I am not that worried.
I don't have a real plan for how to take care of the hair after the baby. I will just go with the flow and see what works. I plan to baggy a lot because I'll be home all the time anyway plus I think that keeping the hair moisturized might help with the hair loss.
I already bought two wigs to wear as needed. I am totally ready. Barring any major setbacks, I hope to be MBL by christmas and WL by next Summer, we'll see.
If you are on a hair journey don't be discouraged the hair definitely grows with some TLC. If you are thinking about starting one, go for it, you will be impressed by your results. I don't have any plans to go natural anytime soon but you never know.
Your hair looks great! It is amazing how the hair responds to TLC! What a difference a year makes!!!
ReplyDeleteSo true faith, TLC is key and of course taking pics so that you can see the difference over time.
DeleteLove to see the progression! Congratulations on your growth!
ReplyDeleteIs it okay to relax your hair when your pregnant? I'm not pregnant and won't be anytime soon, but have wondered about this. lol
Thanks Glamour.
DeleteI think relaxing while pregnant is a personal choice. I did not have any reason to believe that it would be harmful to the baby so I did. I never relax in the first trimester though
Wow! Your hair progress is impressive! How do you plan on wearing it for delivery and right after baby comes home?
ReplyDeleteI keep hearing about postpartum shedding and I am starting to panic. How are you planning on maintaining your hair to avoid too much shedding?
I think I will just wear it out for pics (of course) and have it in a baggy bun most of the time.
DeleteI had terrible postpartum shedding with my first. I hope it's not as bad this time around. Either way, you know the hair will grow back so don't panic, you just might have to find an interim solution for a few months.
Feel free to email me to share ideas oh and Congratulations on your pregnancy.
Wow you are my inspiration! My hair actually has been in shambles throughout my pregnancy so i'm hoping post-pregnancy we can get back on the healthy, growing train. Mind sharing your plan?
ReplyDeleteAwww thanks Josie, I love that I inspired you. I don't have a plan per say, I will keep doing what I am doing now and see how bad things get with post partum shedding then I'll probably adjust things from there. Email me if you like we can swap ideas.
DeleteLove your hair. It's grown so much
ReplyDeleteThanks, I definitely retained a good amount of growth
